And its purple light in darkness could be a bit distributing for sleep.… The TV provides a few LD (low-definition) channels of very limited choices. It is fun to use a foreign language, but of course if you are a business traveler this might not be the thing to do after a day's work. And if you can communicate, they are very welcoming and accommodating. But a few Spanish words and body language are useful. The front desk staff do not speak English. Fortunately most of the days we only need to use the AC to cool down the room temperature a little bit, and we can turn it off at night. My room sounds like an airport when the A/C is on. Once I was in the room when the cleaning lady came, and she kindly offered to exchange the towels and empty the trash bin which was all I needed. The room we had looks exactly the same as the (more recent) photos posted online. From/to the airport you can get a taxi of flat rate 30 euro which is reasonably priced and hassle-free. Using Uber (or UberEat!) is also very cheap and convenient in Madrid. There is a well-stocked grocery market called Mercadona within walking distance. It is a more business district, but there are still plenty of (relatively upscale) restaurant and coffee shops nearby. There are a few metro stops within 5-10 minute walk. Location! The hotel is situated in the Salamanca neighborhood, right across the street from the US embassy. Here are a few pros and cons for those considering paying on their own: Pros: 1. It turned out to be a little bit better than what we expected. When we first saw the ratings and reviews on tripadvisor, we were of course not very impressed. We stayed here for about a week in June 2019. Would I stay here again/recommend? Not a hope in hell.… My /our breakfast was poor and you had to go to reception for a " ticket for breakfast □ " then leave the hotel and go to the tapas bar next door?.whats all that abou? Breakfast was €5 apparently.1xcoffee, 1 xjuice and 1x crossiont or 1x tostada□ it was a joke really □□□.no bar in hotel? It was more like a hostel really.not God value for money.asvwe were within a group package it's difficult to work out costings for our stay 8th to 11th February 2022? Costs next week are approximately €67- €75 per night.all in all not a happy person, would have not booked had we been coining independently. The male staff member that checked us in was rude and unhlpfull. ![]() Rooms very basic, our room had a broken sink with 3x cracks in it, but did have clean bed linen and towels, shwer was hot.aircon was good, kitchenette ok.? no kettle so used a pan.
